I haven’t been able to give the Beatmania a ton of time yet, it seems like nobody has quite cracked replacing the HDD with a CF card or any other form of flash media so I’m still working on that but have made some progress. I have another post talking briefly about it. Right now all I’ve done with it is recap the display, I will strip it down and give it a fresh coat of paint, buttons, etc next. The Beatmania is next in line after I finish my Whirlwind pinball rebuild.

Really nice to see someone give it the care it deserves. Do you have any data on how much faster, if at all, the game boots up with an SSD (or CF) versus an HDD? Any other mods/upgrades/repairs in store for this machine?
